Dear Families,

Whether we believe it or not, Spring has sprung!  The auction is around the corner and the energy is palpable!  The flurry of parents in and out of  the conference room and the number of items being stored in my office is beyond impressive.  I can't wait to spend time with everyone on the 30th and know this event will be a huge success!

We work very hard at P.S. 150 to keep lines of communication open - at the last PTA meeting, I outlined all of the workshops and events that have taken place this year thus far.  I now have a "PS 150 Workshop Idea" cannister on the radiator in the lobby.  If there is anything you would find interesting to learn about during the year, go ahead and plop your idea right in.  I am happy to consider anything that would help you or your children grow and have a positive impact on their achievement or well-being.  That said, PLEASE remember to fill out your school surveys.  I just filled in the one for my son's school and it took less than 5 minutes.  It's important for us to get feedback, positive or negative, in order to learn about our strengths or shortcomings.

Thank you to everyone for all you do.  Let's all hope for some warmth, especially on Sunday!

Daily Announcements

FIRST THROUGH FIFTH GRADE REGISTRATION FOR 2014-2015  We will open our waitlists for first through fifth grades beginning January 13, 2014.  Families interested in placing their child(ren) on our wait list must appear in person (you do not have to bring your child) with your child(ren)'s original birth certificate or passport and two proofs of residency.

Kindergarten registration begins end of April.

PS 150 is a nut-free school. These restrictions refer to both ground and tree nuts.  We have young students with serious nut allergies, for whom this is a matter of life and death.

Children will be offered cheese sandwiches as an alternative to the hot lunch instead of peanut butter.

If you are sending your child to school with a lunch packed at home, please do not include any food items with nuts.  This includes salted peanuts, peanut butter sandwiches, peanut butter cookies, peanut butter granola bars, foods cooked in peanut oil and all tree nut and tree nut-derived products.

In addition, if your child eats peanuts or peanut-based products as part of his/her breakfast, please make sure his/her hands are washed thoroughly before coming to school and there are no crumbs on his/her clothing.

It isn't easy being green
Please help us by discarding all trash in the appropriate receptacles.  We have blue bins for metal, glass and plastic, grey bins for paper and regular cans for all non recyclable garbage.  Thank you.
